And a nice apartment in the Midi—Pyrenees … just for a change

Les Sapins

Saint Lary—Soulan (Department 65)

My wife and I have always enjoyed being in the mountains. We regularly went to the French Pyrenees for short breaks and  fell in love with the area.

The mountains are very pretty, the walks amongst the wildflowers are wonderful, the access to the area is superb and it is suitable for walking in summer as well as a full winter sports programme in winter.

We found a nice apartment in Saint-Lary Soulan, a picturesque village just south of Tarbes. This location has the added advantage of being close to the Bielsa tunnel, so there is a quick, convenient  access to the undiscovered north of Spain, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Our apartment is in  a block of apartments at the edge of the village and offers spectacular views over the surrounding mountains.

It is a duplex apartment on two levels. The entry level has a double bedroom, a toilet, a kitchen area and a sitting room/dining area, leading out to a nice balcony.

The next level has two bedrooms, one with a double bed the other with two single beds. There is a shower and toilet situated on this level.

The house is compact but is a great space for five or six people. Although there is the possibility for more it is not really practicable.

If you want a nice apartment , centrally situated to discover this magical area… this is it. Have a look at the pictures and decide for yourself.

The town centre has been totally re-designed and looks fabulous with a totally new village re-created in the distinctive local style.

The house is equipped to a good basic standard but does not have a deep freeze or full sized oven. It also does not have a VCR/DVD player or a telephone.
